My crap
geocaching
20th-Sep-2005 11:52 pm
and in a frantic bid to 'get 200 finds' i pushed the envelope and forced everyone i have face to face contact with to go caching.

i ended the day (litterally 11.53pm) with 204 finds!

woo hoo me.

now. if i do 30 morre this month i get the leader board for the month......

(why the hell am i SO competetive?!?)

- no foto's been too busy getting them.

Good work! I'm at 84 and have exhausted all the caches within a 25-mile radius of here.
21st-Sep-2005 01:36 pm (UTC) - geo-caching for president!
woah! that would kill me.

I have a cache that got placed 3 days ago, and it's 300m from my house! i am itching to do it, but waiting till the weekend so i can do it with daughter.

YOU should take it upon yourself to make the area cache positive and set a few (hundred) out and bring ppl into your area! that would be grand.

and then others may share the joy and place a few nearby.

either that or go on a roadtrip and collect them.

I can't get enough of it atm. i HAVE to cache. in the dark. with only my ipaq and gps. i occasionally use the light on my mobile fone for assistance.
my caching buddy and i joke we're 'hardcore'. i think it's just funny.

picture, us in a car. after a late night shift. he's driving me home (whilst we cache). music cruisy.
"ok coming up on the right"
"dude. it's bush."
"i know, but there's one not more than 200m in there"
he'll generally pull over and we'll disscuss the merits of tearing into the bush without prior planning..
"do you know what's in there?"
"no"
"have u read the cache data?"
"no"
"why do we do this?"
"it's funny."
"*sigh* i don't think this a good idea"
"you're soft"

he'll generally open the car door and head into the darkest bushland once i call him soft :)

so yeah. we generally don't even read about th4e cahce till we're ontop of the co-ords. heh heh heh.

the last hundred have been collected via this method. it may sound odd, but it works, we find em.

and it's a great way to relax.

i can't wait till the next cacher meet, "yeah we go tthat one. at 3am. in the rain. by the light of our mobile fones. yeah. we parked by the road and walked STRAIGHT at it. *shrug* you get a few cuts and scrapes, and we've only ever NEARLY fallen off 2 cliffs, and into 3 bodies of water, but no pain, no geo-cache. right?"

*grin*
